EUROCON AWARDS

Awards in the following categories are presented:

  • Best Author
  • Best Translator
  • Best Promoter
  • Best Magazine
  • Best Publisher
  • Best Artist

Furthermore each country can hand out an Encouragement Award to a young writer or artist.

The final shortlist will be one nomination per category for each country. Previous winners are not eligible for nomination (see here for a list of previous winners:
www.esfs.info/esfs-awards-2000.html).

The following three Spirit of Dedication Awards are also presented at the convention:

  • An artist, author of one of more works
  • An author of a performance (film, play, ballet, etc.)
  • A fanzine.

IMPORTANT: Be aware that according to the statutes nominations should be made at least two months before the opening of the Eurocon. This means that the deadline for nominations is Saturday the 21st of July. That date has now passed, so we would like the various countries to agree on national nominations. Has your country not yet made a nomination and/or do you not agree with these nominations then please bring the issue forward at Eurocon 2007. Do not send us any more e-mails, as we will not have the time to handle them.

Please check out the esfs website for the statutes, including the rules for the Eurocon Awards:
www.esfs.info
We will put information about the nominations up on the Eurocon 2007 web site as they are coming in. If any country comes up with more than one nomination per category we will ask the members of that country to make a vote in order to arrive at max. one nomination for each category per country as of July 21st.
